Deputies Investigate Attempted Roof Break-In at Fort Myers Circle K
FORT MYERS, FL โ The Lee County Sheriff's Office is investigating an attempted commercial burglary at a local Circle K convenience store. According to detectives, a suspect climbed onto the building's roof in an unsuccessful effort to gain entry into the store overnight.
Deputies were dispatched to the convenience store early Monday morning after store employees noticed damage to the ceiling and roof structures upon opening. Security footage from the business showed an individual climbing onto the roof during the early morning hours, attempting to cut or force their way through the roofing materials to bypass the building's secure entryways.
Despite causing significant structural damage to the roof, the suspect was unable to penetrate the interior ceiling to enter the retail area. Authorities believe the suspect may have fled the scene after triggering a silent alarm or realizing the difficulty of the breach. No inventory or cash was reported stolen from the location.
Forensic teams have collected evidence from the roof of the Circle K, and investigators are reviewing surveillance feeds from nearby traffic cameras and businesses. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed suspicious activity near the store is encouraged to contact the Sheriff's Office.
