Derby Shopkeeper Fends Off Knife-Wielding Robber with Wooden Stick

A shopkeeper in Derby has been praised for their bravery after successfully fighting off an armed robber who threatened them with a knife. The offender attempted to rob the local convenience store at knifepoint, demanding cash from the till.

Rather than submitting to the threats, the quick-thinking shopkeeper grabbed a wooden stick and confronted the assailant, striking back until the robber fled the scene empty-handed. Following a police investigation, the suspect was identified, arrested, and subsequently sentenced to prison as part of a crackdown on violent crime in Derby. Court records reveal the knifepoint robber was among those locked up in December following their conviction at Derby Crown Court.
