The burglary took place on December 25, 2025, while the family was away visiting relatives. Urn and ashes were stolen from the home. The thieves took electronics, jewelry, and wrapped gifts from under the tree. However, the most devastating loss was a decorative urn containing the cremated remains of a beloved family member.

Thornton Police have launched an active investigation into the incident, appealing to the community for any information. The family has emphasized that the ashes hold no monetary value to the thieves but are of immeasurable sentimental value to the grieving household.
