Dispensary on Sunset Strip targeted by burglars for ‘sixth or seventh time,’ manager says

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA — The manager of a popular cannabis dispensary on the Sunset Strip is expressing deep frustration after the business was targeted by burglars in the early hours of Monday morning, marking what they describe as the sixth or seventh break-in at the location.

The incident occurred at the Urbn Leaf dispensary located at 8477 Sunset Boulevard. According to West Hollywood sheriff's deputies, a group of suspects arrived at the store before dawn, shattered the front glass doors, and made a rapid entry inside the building.

The store's general manager voiced concern over the constant threat of break-ins targeting the legal cannabis industry in Los Angeles.

"It is the sixth or seventh time we have been hit since we opened. They come in, break our windows, destroy our doors, and even if they don't get away with much product, the property damage alone is costing us thousands every single time," the manager said.

Security features at the dispensary prevented the burglars from accessing the main product vaults, limiting their haul to display packaging and minor retail items. However, the recurring cost of replacing tempered glass windows and reinforcing security gates has placed a heavy burden on the business.

Calls for Increased Patrols

Local business owners along Sunset Boulevard have echoed the dispensary manager's concerns, calling on the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and city officials to increase patrols during late-night and early-morning hours. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are reviewing surveillance footage to identify the suspects and their getaway vehicles.
