Police appeal following Coventry distraction burglary

According to an article published by Birminghammail on 28 December 2025, West Midlands Police have launched an investigation into a distraction burglary that occurred at a private home in Coventry. The incident took place on 13 December at approximately 3pm on Sewall Highway.

Birminghammail reports that a man allegedly posed as a gardener to gain access to the property, from which a handbag was stolen. Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the crime. Although officers have conducted CCTV trawls, they have been unable to identify the suspect and are now appealing to the public for assistance.

While the police acknowledge the provided image is not the clearest, they believe members of the public may be able to assist in the ongoing investigation.
