Double Knife-Point Robberies in Bedford Trigger Urgent Police Investigation

BEDFORD — Detectives in Bedford are investigating whether two separate knife-point robberies that occurred within just 30 minutes of each other are linked.

Both incidents took place on the afternoon of April 16, 2026, in close geographic proximity. In both cases, lone victims were approached by suspects wielding knives who demanded personal belongings and cash. Fortunately, neither victim sustained physical injuries, but both were left severely shaken by the encounters.

Due to the timing, proximity, and methods used, officers are working on the hypothesis that the same offender or group of offenders may be responsible. Increased patrols have been deployed to the affected areas of Bedford to reassure residents and deter further offenses.

Bedfordshire Police have urged witnesses or anyone who was driving in the area with active dashcams between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM to review their footage.
