An audacious attempt to steal a drive-thru automated teller machine (ATM) at San Francisco's Diamond Heights Plaza has led to the permanent removal of the service terminal.

Local residents and shoppers noticed the absence of the Chase Bank drive-thru ATM, leaving only a patch of fresh concrete where the structure once stood. According to police reports, suspects targeted the freestanding ATM in the early hours of the morning, attempting to tear the machine from its foundations or break open the vault.

While the theft attempt was ultimately unsuccessful in securing the cash, the significant structural damage inflicted upon the terminal rendered it unusable. Chase Bank subsequently chose to remove the entire kiosk rather than repair or replace it.
