Erie Police Investigating Overnight Burglary

ERIE, Pa. — Detectives with the Erie Police Department are investigating an overnight commercial burglary that occurred at a business in the city early Saturday morning.

According to preliminary police reports, officers responded to an alarm at approximately 3:15 a.m. in the area of West 26th Street. Upon arrival, responding officers found signs of forced entry, including a shattered glass door. Officers searched the premises, but the suspects had already fled the scene prior to their arrival.

The owner of the business is currently working with police to compile an inventory of stolen items and cash. Investigators have secured surveillance camera footage from the property and are working to identify the individuals involved. Forensic units also processed the scene for fingerprint and DNA evidence.
