Failed Pizza Theft Escalates into Armed Robbery Attempt at Victorville Little Caesars

An attempted robbery at a local pizza restaurant in Victorville escalated into a dangerous confrontation when a suspect brandished a firearm at a security officer and bystanders. The incident occurred at the Little Caesars Pizza located in the 15700 block of Mojave Drive, highlighting the increasing risks faced by retail workers and security personnel in the High Desert region.

Confrontation Over Stolen Pizza

On May 20, 2024, a 26-year-old male suspect from Adelanto entered the Little Caesars restaurant and forced open the store's automated, self-service pizza portals. After grabbing multiple hot pizzas without paying, the suspect attempted to leave the store. However, quick-thinking restaurant employees immediately intervened, confronted the thief, and successfully retrieved the stolen pizzas from his grasp before ordering him to vacate the premises.

Escalation to Armed Robbery

The situation escalated rapidly once the suspect exited the building. A security guard stationed at the property followed the suspect outside in an attempt to document his vehicle's license plate and description for law enforcement. Upon realizing he was being followed, the suspect pulled out a firearm and threatened the security guard, as well as several bystanders who were in the parking lot. The armed suspect then fled the area in his vehicle.

Investigation and Arrest

Deputies from the Victorville Sheriff's Station launched an immediate investigation into the incident. Utilizing surveillance footage and description details gathered at the scene, investigators identified the suspect and traced him to his residence in Adelanto. Deputies executed a warrant at the home, arresting the suspect without further incident. He was booked on charges of attempted armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
