Father and Son Detain Burglary Suspect on Summer Avenue Until Police Arrive

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A father and son took decisive action on Summer Avenue when they intercepted and detained a burglary suspect caught in the act at a local business, holding the individual until law enforcement arrived at the scene.

According to reports, the family members encountered the suspect committing a burglary at the establishment. Realizing the situation, they intervened to prevent the suspect from fleeing. Working together, they managed to restrain the suspect on the ground. Memphis Police Department (MPD) officers were immediately dispatched to the location following reports of the active break-in and subsequent citizen detention.

Upon arrival, MPD officers took custody of the suspect without further incident. The suspect was arrested and is facing charges related to the commercial burglary. Authorities commend the cooperation of citizens but continue to advise caution when confronting active criminals.
