Fayetteville Smoke Shop Clerk Shot During Attempted Armed Robbery; Suspect Photos Released

FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina — A violent attempted armed robbery at a local smoke shop has left a store clerk hospitalized with gunshot wounds. Fayetteville police and county deputies have launched an active investigation and are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the suspects involved.

The incident occurred during business hours when a man and a woman entered the smoke shop. According to law enforcement, the suspects brandished firearms and demanded cash. During the confrontation, one of the suspects discharged a weapon, striking the store clerk before both fled the scene empty-handed.
