Five Arrested After Sheriff's Drone Captures Chicago Railyard Burglary in Progress

CHICAGO, IL — Five individuals are in custody after a Cook County Sheriff's Office drone caught them in the act of burglarizing cargo containers at a Chicago railyard. The high-tech aerial surveillance allowed deputies to surround the suspects and prevent their escape, highlighting the growing role of unmanned aerial systems in modern law enforcement.

The incident occurred during the overnight hours at a major freight rail facility on the city’s south side.
