Five Masked Raiders Armed with Machetes Force Way into Stoke-on-Trent Home

A major police investigation is underway in Stoke-on-Trent following a terrifying aggravated burglary where five masked men, armed with machetes, forced their way into a residential property. The occupants of the house were subjected to a frightening ordeal as the armed gang demanded cash and valuables.

The incident occurred on the evening of January 16, 2026. The five suspects, all wearing face coverings and carrying large blades, smashed their way through the rear entrance of the property. Once inside, they confronted the occupants, threatening them while conducting a swift search of the rooms. The gang subsequently fled the scene with a quantity of jewellery and personal items.

Staffordshire Police have deployed extra patrols in the area to reassure the local community. Detective Constable leading the investigation said: "This was a shocking and violent intrusion into a family home. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured, but the victims have been left extremely shaken by this ordeal. We are determined to identify these individuals and bring them to justice."

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen a suspicious vehicle in the area, or individuals matching the description of the masked group. Homeowners in the vicinity are asked to review their CCTV and smart doorbell footage from the evening of the raid and report any suspicious sightings immediately.
