Five Suspects Arrested Following Violent Gas Station Robbery in Southwest Fort Wayne
FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Five individuals are behind bars following a violent strong-arm robbery at a Circle K gas station in southwest Fort Wayne on Friday, May 8, 2026.
According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, the incident occurred around 6:25 p.m. when three women and two men entered the convenience store located at 3730 Engle Road. Investigators report that a physical altercation was initiated by one of the female suspects, which quickly escalated as the group proceeded to assault a store employee.
During the confrontation, the suspects caused extensive property damage within the business, estimated at approximately $15,000. Following the assault and robbery, the group fled the scene in a vehicle.
Swift Apprehension by Law Enforcement
Witnesses at the scene provided crucial descriptions of the suspects and their getaway vehicle. Shortly after, an Indiana State Police trooper spotted the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop, leading to the arrest of all five occupants without further incident.
The individuals taken into custody have been identified as Shaniya Arnold, Denasia Williams, Denise Williams, Christopher Harris, and Devon Stewart. They face multiple charges, including robbery and criminal mischief.
"The quick response and coordination between witnesses, the Fort Wayne Police, and the Indiana State Police were instrumental in safely apprehending these individuals," a police spokesperson stated.
The store employee sustained minor injuries but did not require immediate hospitalization. The investigation remains active as prosecutors review the formal charges.
