Five Suspects Arrested in Elk Grove Following Burglary Attempt and $80K Theft

ELK GROVE, CA — A major burglary attempt in Elk Grove ended with five suspects in police custody after a high-stakes investigation that recovered approximately $80,000 in stolen merchandise. The Elk Grove Police Department, with the assistance of regional law enforcement agencies, successfully intercepted the crew following their failed heist.

Late-Night Burglary Triggers Police Response

The incident began late in the evening when officers responded to silent alarms indicating a break-in at a local commercial establishment. Upon arrival, officers observed the suspects attempting to flee the scene with large quantities of retail goods. The suspects loaded the stolen items, valued at over $80,000, into waiting vehicles before speeding away from the location.

A coordinated pursuit was initiated, involving ground units and aerial support. The chase ended safely when police utilized tire deflation devices, disabling the suspects' vehicles and forcing them to halt. All five suspects attempted to flee on foot but were quickly surrounded and apprehended by officers and K-9 units.

"The swift arrest of these five individuals and the recovery of the stolen goods demonstrate the effectiveness of our commercial security partnerships and rapid response protocols," said Chief of Police Bobby Davis.

Suspects Face Multiple Felony Charges

The five suspects, all identified as adult males from the greater Sacramento area, have been booked into the Sacramento County Jail. They face multiple felony charges, including grand theft, commercial burglary, conspiracy, and evading police. Investigators are checking if this crew is responsible for other high-value commercial burglaries reported across Northern California in recent months.
