Fleeing Attempted Robbery Suspect Detained After Running Directly Into National Guard

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A suspect attempting to flee the scene of an attempted robbery in Memphis made a major miscalculation, running straight into a unit of the National Guard, leading to his immediate detention.

According to the Memphis Police Department, the suspect had allegedly attempted to commit a robbery nearby. The victim resisted or raised an alarm, prompting the suspect to flee on foot in search of an escape route. In his haste to evade local law enforcement, the suspect rounded a corner and ran directly into a contingent of National Guard soldiers who were in the area.

Recognizing the suspicious and frantic behavior of the individual, the National Guard personnel quickly reacted, securing the suspect until Memphis police officers arrived on the scene. Police confirmed the suspect's involvement in the attempted robbery and took custody of him without further incident.
