Florida Man Arrested After Smash-and-Grab Burglary Spree at St. Pete Publix

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A Florida man is facing multiple charges following a destructive series of smash-and-grab burglaries at a local Publix supermarket in St. Petersburg.

St. Petersburg police responded to reports of commercial break-ins and property damage at the grocery store. According to police reports, the suspect smashed through glass entry doors to gain access to the property before stealing merchandise from various displays. Officers arrived at the scene and apprehended the suspect while he was still inside the premises.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident and booked into the Pinellas County Jail. Investigators are working to assess the total cost of the stolen goods and the extensive damage caused to the storefront.
