Four Lincoln Park Businesses Struck by Smash-and-Grab Burglar in Overnight Spree

CHICAGO, IL — A wave of smash-and-grab burglaries hit the Lincoln Park community overnight, leaving business owners to board up shattered windows and tally up losses from a serial thief.

According to Chicago police, the suspect hit four separate commercial establishments. Among the targeted venues were the well-known neighborhood eateries Old Pueblo Cantina and the bakery Sweet Mandy B's. In each location, the suspect shattered front glass doors or windows to gain quick entry, targeting cash registers before fleeing the scene within minutes.

The string of break-ins has sparked frustration among community members and business operators who are demanding stronger deterrents against commercial burglary crews. Police are reviewing surveillance camera feeds from the affected businesses to gather description details of the suspect, who appears to have acted alone in these incidents. No suspects are currently in custody.
