Four residential burglaries reported in Uphall

Police investigate string of break-ins in West Lothian

According to an article published on 16 January 2026 by Edinburghlive, police have launched an investigation following a series of housebreakings in West Lothian. Four residential properties were targeted in under one hour between 6.45pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.

Edinburghlive reports that the incidents occurred at locations in Johnstone Avenue, Uphall; Pumperston Road, Uphall Station; and West Bonnington Drive, Wilkieston. A white Audi A4 saloon was observed in the vicinity of all four homes during the timeframe of the offences.

Detective Inspector John Irvine stated that authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage and conducting door-to-door enquiries. Police are urging anyone who may have seen the vehicle, or who possesses relevant doorbell or dash-cam footage, to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2862 of 14 January, 2026.

Ensure all doors and windows are securely locked and consider installing motion-activated lighting to deter potential intruders.
