Fresno Man Apprehended After Entering Home and Assaulting Sleeping Resident

FRESNO, California — Authorities have arrested a local man in connection with a terrifying home invasion in which a sleeping resident was sexually assaulted inside her own bedroom.

The Fresno Police Department responded to a distress call from a residential neighborhood where a woman reported waking up to an unknown male intruder groping her. According to police reports, the suspect gained unauthorized entry into the home through an unsecured point of access. The victim awoke during the assault, confronting the intruder and causing him to flee the house.

Responding officers conducted a thorough search of the surrounding area and located a suspect matching the description provided by the victim. The man was taken into custody without further incident. He has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on multiple charges, including burglary, residential home invasion, and sexual battery.
