Series of burglaries hit Nottinghamshire gaming stores

According to an article published on 3 January 2026 by the Bbc, multiple gaming stores in Nottinghamshire have been targeted by burglars. The incidents involved the theft of cash and various collectable trading cards, including Pokรฉmon, Star Wars, Spider-Man, and Warhammer collections.

The Bbc reports that The Dice Jail in Southwell was broken into on 25 December, followed by a burglary at the Sanctuary Gaming Centre & Coffee Shop in Sutton-in-Ashfield on 26 December. While police recovered a significant portion of the stolen cards following the second incident, the businesses sustained damage to their premises.

These events follow a separate burglary at Jakes Breaks in Beeston, where thousands of trading cards were taken. Additionally, the Bbc notes that a warehouse in Retford was targeted in December, resulting in the loss of Pokรฉmon cards estimated at ยฃ10,000. Authorities are continuing their inquiries into these incidents.

Business owners are encouraged to reinforce entry points and ensure that high-value inventory is stored in secure, monitored locations.
