Glass Shattered and Items Stolen in Thanksgiving Day Care Burglary in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, FL โ€” A Fort Myers day care facility fell victim to a burglary during the Thanksgiving holiday. The incident occurred on November 23, 2023, and was later reported to police, who have launched an active investigation into the break-in.

According to authorities, the perpetrator gained entry by shattering a glass window or door of the facility. Once inside, the burglar ransacked the offices and classrooms, stealing various electronics and other items before fleeing the scene. The damage and loss were discovered by staff returning to prepare for the post-holiday reopening.

The Fort Myers Police Department has collected evidence from the scene, including security footage, and is working to identify the individual responsible. Community members who may have witnessed suspicious activity near the day care on Thanksgiving Day are requested to contact detectives.
