Greenlight Convenience Store Clerk Shot Multiple Times During Sunnyside Robbery
HOUSTON, Texas — A violent robbery in Houston's Sunnyside neighborhood has left a local corner store clerk hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds. The Houston Police Department is investigating the shooting, which occurred early Wednesday morning, November 26, 2025, at the Greenlight Convenience Store.
According to HPD investigators, the incident unfolded around 6:00 a.m. as the store clerk was working near the establishment located at the intersection of Scott Street and Barberry Drive. The clerk was approached by two masked men who brandished firearms and demanded a bag he was holding. The situation quickly escalated when one of the suspects shot the clerk at the front of the store. Attempting to escape the gunfire, the clerk ran toward the side of the building before collapsing. The suspects pursued him, struggled to wrestle the bag away, and shot him several more times at close range.
The robbers fled the scene with the clerk's bag, which contained approximately $1,500 in cash and several forms of identification. Emergency medical services arrived shortly after and rushed the clerk to a local trauma center. Although the clerk sustained multiple gunshot wounds, medical officials confirmed he survived the initial attack and was receiving treatment.
