Gwent Police Investigate Industrial Estate Robbery on Caswell Way in Newport

NEWPORT, Wales — Police are investigating a commercial robbery that took place at a business premises located on Caswell Way, within the Lliswerry industrial area of Newport.

The incident occurred on June 6, 2025, prompting a deployment of officers to the scene. According to Gwent Police, suspects targeted the commercial facility, gaining entry and stealing valuable industrial equipment and electrical assets before fleeing the area.

Detectives have been conducting enquiries, reviewing local surveillance, and checking automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras in the vicinity. The police have asked anyone who might have seen unusual vehicle movements, particularly vans or commercial transport, in the Caswell Way area during the night to contact them.

"We are seeking details from anyone who was in the Lliswerry or Caswell Way area and noticed anything suspicious," a Gwent Police spokesperson said. "Any dashcam footage from drivers in the area around that time could be crucial to our ongoing investigation."

No injuries were reported during the break-in, but the targeted business has faced operational disruptions as a result of the stolen items. Anyone with information is urged to contact Gwent Police or report anonymously through Crimestoppers.
