Hampton Officer Shoots Suspect During Armed Robbery at Royal Farms

On the night of October 19, 2023, a Hampton police officer responded to a call at the Royal Farms gas station located at 1000 Mercury Blvd, Hampton, Virginia. The officer, unaware of the ongoing robbery, entered the store and encountered a suspect armed with a weapon. The officer fired his weapon, striking the suspect. The suspect was later arrested and transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, identified as 28-year-old John Doe, was charged with attempted armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The investigation is ongoing, and police are appealing for any witnesses or individuals with information to come forward.
