Legal proceedings following Tamworth home invasion

According to an article published by the Northerndailyleader, a man is facing upgraded charges following an armed home invasion that occurred in South Tamworth in July 2025. The 24-year-old defendant, Brendan Duroux, appeared via video link in Tamworth Local Court, where he remains in custody after being refused bail.

The Northerndailyleader reports that the accused faces one count of robbery armed with an offensive weapon, as well as a charge of aggravated entering a dwelling with intent and in company. The charges relate to an incident involving the theft of a cache of electronics and personal property. During the court appearance, it was noted that a case conference between the Director of Public Prosecutions and the defence is scheduled for later this month to discuss the allegations. Magistrate Julie Soars has adjourned the matter until July for a further mention, as the defendant has yet to enter pleas to the charges.
