Home Invasion and Gunfire in West Philadelphia

On the night of October 11, 2023, a home invasion in West Philadelphia ended in gunfire. The incident occurred at a rowhome on the 5800 block of Chestnut Street. According to police, three suspects forced entry into the residence around 9:30 PM, armed with guns. The suspects were described as wearing masks and dark clothing.

The homeowner, a 45-year-old man, was injured during the altercation. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects stole an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry, estimated to be worth over $10,000. The suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan, which was later found abandoned in the 5900 block of Chestnut Street. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Police are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the identification and arrest of the suspects.
