Homeowner Pistol-Whipped and Ambushed in Miramar Burglary; Female Suspect Arrested
MIRAMAR, Fla. — A Miramar man was ambushed and pistol-whipped during a violent home invasion robbery on January 5, 2026, leading to the arrest of a female suspect and the dramatic recovery of the victim's stolen dog, police said.
Ambushed at His Own Home
According to the Miramar Police Department, the victim was returning to his residence when he was ambushed by several individuals. The suspects forced their way into the home, striking the victim repeatedly with a handgun. During the struggle, the victim suffered injuries to his head and face from being pistol-whipped but survived the assault.
Before fleeing the scene, the robbers ransacked the home and stole various personal belongings. In a heartbreaking turn, the suspects also took the victim's dog. The attack has left the local neighborhood on edge as police work to identify all individuals involved in the planned home invasion.
Arrest Made and Family Dog Safely Recovered
Following a rapid investigation, detectives tracked down and arrested a woman believed to be connected to the setup and execution of the robbery. Through their efforts, officers were also able to locate and safely recover the victim's stolen dog, returning the pet to its owner.
