Homestead Pawn Shop Employee Charged with Stealing $10,000 in Jewelry

HOMESTEAD, FL — A pawn shop employee in Homestead has been arrested after management accused her of systematically stealing jewelry valued at approximately $10,000 over a period of several weeks.

The theft came to light during a routine inventory audit when store owners noticed a significant discrepancy in high-value items, including gold rings, necklaces, and bracelets. Internal surveillance footage allegedly showed the employee pocketing the items and concealing them before leaving the premises at the end of her shifts.

Upon being confronted by management, the employee was detained until Homestead police arrived at the store. Investigators recovered several of the stolen pieces of jewelry and discovered that others had already been sold or pawned at neighboring establishments.
