Theft of honesty box in North Wingfield

According to an article published by the Derbytelegraph on 28 July 2025, police have launched an investigation following the theft of a large red honesty box from a farm shop in Chesterfield. The incident occurred on Friday, 25 July, at a property located on Williamthorpe Road in North Wingfield.

The stolen item is described as an arcade change machine, which customers used to leave money in exchange for food. The machine is red and features the word ‘CHANGE’ in yellow lettering on both sides. Derbyshire police have released a CCTV image showing the machine being removed during the theft and are appealing for the public to report any sightings of the device, which may have been discarded by the offenders.

Derbytelegraph reports that a 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the offence. Authorities are requesting that anyone with information regarding the incident contact them quoting reference 25*428953.

Business owners are encouraged to secure all payment collection points and install visible security cameras to deter potential theft.
