Intruder Arrested After Napping and Drinking Milk Inside Bellevue Apartment

BELLEVUE, TN — An apartment resident returning home was shocked to discover an intruder asleep in their residence, leading to a prompt police response and the suspect's arrest. The burglar allegedly helped himself to food and drinks, including a container of milk, before taking a nap on the tenant's couch.

According to the Bellevue Police Department, officers responded to a residential burglary call at an apartment complex. The tenant reported that upon entering their apartment, they noticed signs of disturbance in the kitchen, including a half-empty carton of milk left on the counter. They then discovered an unknown male sleeping soundly in the living area.

Responding officers entered the apartment and woke the suspect, who appeared disoriented. He was taken into custody without incident. Investigators confirmed there were no signs of forced entry, suggesting the suspect may have entered through an unlocked door.

The suspect was charged with residential burglary and criminal trespass. Police have advised residents to ensure all doors and windows are securely locked, even when they are inside or away for short periods.
