SPRINGFIELD, FL — Detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) are investigating a violent home invasion that left one man injured after being shot inside a residential property in the historic Springfield neighborhood.

According to initial reports from law enforcement, officers responded to a distress call regarding a break-in and subsequent shooting. Upon arrival at the scene, emergency personnel discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was immediately treated at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further medical attention. The severity of his injuries has not yet been publicly disclosed.
