Janesville Gas Station Robbed, Suspect Charged

On October 1, 2023, a gas station located at 2300 N. Pontiac Drive in Janesville, Wisconsin, was the target of a brazen robbery. The suspect, later identified as a local resident, entered the station around 10:30 PM, approached the clerk, and demanded cash. The suspect did not display a weapon but threatened the clerk verbally. The clerk complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

The Janesville Police Department responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. Surveillance footage from the gas station was reviewed, and within 24 hours, police identified and arrested a 28-year-old man from Janesville. The suspect was charged with armed robbery, although no weapon was used. No injuries were reported during the incident. The police have not disclosed the exact amount of cash stolen but confirmed that it was a significant amount. The suspect is currently in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
