Juvenile suspected of robbing Bloomington convenience store

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana — Local authorities are investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store on the south side of Bloomington, where a juvenile is suspected of carrying out the heist.

According to the Bloomington Police Department, the incident occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Officers were dispatched to the convenience store following reports of a robbery in progress. The suspect, described as a juvenile male, entered the establishment, brandished a weapon, and demanded cash from the store clerk.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the scene on foot before law enforcement arrived. K-9 units and patrol officers searched the surrounding residential areas, but the suspect was not immediately located.

"We are actively pursuing several leads and reviewing surveillance footage from the store and neighboring businesses," said a spokesperson for the Bloomington Police Department. "We are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area around 3:00 p.m. to contact detectives."

The store clerk was shaken but did not sustain any physical injuries during the confrontation. Police have described the suspect as a male juvenile wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and a face covering. Anyone with information regarding the robbery is encouraged to call the Bloomington Police Department's investigative division or submit an anonymous tip online.
