Knife-Wielding Corby Burglar Jailed After Violent Arrest and Knifepoint Break-In

A violent criminal from Corby has been handed a prison sentence following a series of offences that began with a terrifying knifepoint burglary in December 2024 and culminated in a confrontation with arresting officers.

The case dates back to late 2024, when two men were arrested and subsequently charged in connection with an aggravated burglary involving a knife. The incident left the occupants of the targeted home traumatised. In the court proceedings that followed at Northampton Crown Court, one of the perpetrators pleaded guilty to the aggravated burglary, alongside charges of assault and resisting arrest.

Violent Resistance During Arrest

During his apprehension by Northamptonshire Police, the knife-wielding offender reacted violently, assaulting a police officer by kicking them in the shin. Despite his resistance, officers successfully detained him.

In May 2026, the judicial process concluded with the man being jailed. The court heard details of the impact of the knifepoint raid on the local victims, with the judge highlighting the gravity of carrying weapons and attacking emergency service workers. The second individual charged in the initial break-in also faced legal action as part of the police crack-down on knife crime and residential burglaries in Corby.
