Armed robbery conviction in Frodsham
According to an article published by Cheshirelive on 9 May 2025, a man has been sentenced to four years in prison following a robbery at a shop in Frodsham. Peter Lea, 34, entered a store on Main Street on the afternoon of Tuesday, 18 March, where he threatened a worker with a knife and demanded cash from the till.
Cheshirelive reports that the perpetrator fled the scene with approximately ยฃ500. Following the incident, Cheshire Police utilized CCTV footage to identify Lea. He was subsequently charged and appeared before Chester Crown Court on 2 May, where he pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of a knife in a public place.
Detective Sergeant Stevie Jackson described the incident as a terrifying ordeal for the victim. Following the sentencing, the police emphasized that the thorough investigation and the strength of the evidence gathered were instrumental in securing the guilty plea. The court also ordered the defendant to pay a ยฃ228 victim surcharge.
