Police appeal following Ilkeston petrol station robbery

According to an article published by Derbyshiretimes on 22 November 2025, Derbyshire police are appealing for information following a knifepoint robbery at a Morrisons petrol station on Nottingham Road, Ilkeston. The incident occurred on Friday 14 November.

Derbyshiretimes reports that a man entered the premises at approximately 8:50pm. After an initial refusal by staff, the suspect returned, gained entry, produced a knife, and jumped over the counter. The individual stole bottles of spirits, vapes, and a charity collection tin before fleeing the scene. The suspect is described as a white man of slim build, approximately 5ft 10ins tall, wearing all-black clothing, a face covering, and black Nike trainers.

Authorities have released a CCTV image to assist with the investigation. Police are urging anyone who recognizes the suspect, possesses relevant dash cam footage, or has been approached to purchase spirits or vapes to contact them, quoting incident number 25*669552. In response to the incident, the local Safer Neighbourhood Team has increased patrols and is conducting knife sweeps in the area.

Business owners are encouraged to review their security protocols and ensure staff are trained in de-escalation techniques for high-risk situations.
