Knifepoint robbery at a store in Chiswell Green
Police appeal following robbery in Chiswell Green
According to an article published by the Watfordobserver on 21 May 2026, police have launched an investigation following a knifepoint robbery at a store in Chiswell Green. The incident took place at the Foodfare store on Watford Road between 1pm and 1.53pm on Monday, 18 May.
The Watfordobserver reports that two men, described as white and wearing masks and dark clothing, entered the premises and threatened a staff member with a knife. After demanding money and emptying the till, the pair fled the scene in a black vehicle, heading toward Tippendell Lane.
Detective Constable Simon Day is leading the enquiries and has requested that anyone with information or relevant dash cam footage contact the police. Due to the store's proximity to the M25 and M1 motorways, authorities are particularly interested in footage from motorists who were in the area at the time. Information can be reported via the Herts police web chat, by calling 101, or by emailing DC Day, quoting crime reference 41/45914/26. Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
Business owners are encouraged to ensure their security systems are fully operational and that staff are trained in emergency response procedures.
