Police appeal following Ilkeston petrol station robbery

According to an article published by Derbyshiretimes on 25 November 2025, Derbyshire police have released CCTV footage following a knifepoint robbery at the Morrisons petrol station on Nottingham Road, Ilkeston. The incident occurred on the evening of Friday 14 November.

According to Derbyshiretimes, a masked man entered the premises, was initially refused cash and cigarettes by a staff member, but returned shortly after. The suspect then forced entry, brandished a knife, and jumped over the counter. He stole bottles of spirits, vapes, and a charity collection box before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a white man of slim build, approximately 5ft 10ins tall, with a local accent. He was wearing all-black clothing, a face covering, and black Nike trainers. Investigating officers are urging anyone who recognizes the individual or has been offered spirits or vapes for sale to come forward. Motorists with relevant dash cam footage are also encouraged to contact Derbyshire police, quoting incident number 25*669552.

Business owners are encouraged to review their security protocols and ensure that staff are trained in de-escalation techniques for high-risk situations.
