Knoxville Police Investigating Robbery Outside North Broadway Kroger Store

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Detectives with the Knoxville Police Department are investigating an outdoor robbery that took place in the parking lot of a Kroger grocery store located on North Broadway.

According to preliminary police reports, the victim was walking to their vehicle after shopping when they were approached by an unknown individual. The suspect threatened the victim and demanded their personal items, including a wallet and shopping bags. After a brief confrontation, the suspect obtained the victim's belongings and fled the scene on foot.

Officers arrived shortly after the incident was reported and searched the surrounding area, but were unable to locate the suspect. No injuries were reported as a result of the robbery, though the victim was understandably shaken by the encounter.

KPD investigators are reviewing surveillance footage from Kroger's security cameras as well as nearby businesses in an effort to identify the suspect. The suspect is described as a male wearing dark clothing, last seen heading east from the grocery store property.

Law enforcement authorities remind citizens to remain alert and aware of their surroundings when walking through parking lots, especially during evening hours, and to report any suspicious individuals or activity to store security or police immediately.
