Laredo Woman Charged with Burglary After Drinking Beer and Taking Snacks from Occupied Apartment

LAREDO, Texas โ€” A Laredo woman has been arrested and charged with burglary after an unusual incident where she allegedly broke into an occupied residential apartment, drank the resident's beer, and stole snacks.

According to the Laredo Police Department, officers were called to the apartment complex after the resident reported finding an unknown woman inside their home. The resident told police that the intruder had made herself at home, helping herself to beer from the refrigerator and consuming snacks before she was confronted.

Responding officers found the woman still in the vicinity and took her into custody. She was booked into the Webb County Jail on charges of burglary of a habitation. Police emphasized that entering an occupied dwelling without consent, regardless of the items taken, constitutes a serious felony offense.
