Detectives in Basildon are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a large consignment of air rifles from a heavy goods vehicle parked at a local industrial estate. The incident occurred overnight, with thieves breaching the lorry's secure cargo hold to access the weapon shipment.

The vehicle was parked in a designated freight area within the industrial park when the break-in took place.
