CHICAGO, IL — An armed robbery at a Subway restaurant in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood has sparked an active investigation by the Chicago Police Department. The incident, which occurred on February 14, 2024, is one of two Subway locations targeted in a similar fashion on the city's Northwest Side, raising alarms about potential serial offenses targeting local fast-food chains.
Details of the Armed Incident
According to police reports, the suspects entered the Logan Square Subway establishment and immediately brandished firearms, demanding cash from the employees on duty. The workers, caught off guard, complied with the instructions to ensure their safety. The perpetrators quickly emptied the cash register and fled the scene in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of money.
"The safety of our staff and customers is our highest priority. We are fully cooperating with the Chicago Police Department in their investigation," said a Subway spokesperson in a statement following the incident.
Investigation and Search for Suspects
Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported during the encounter. Area Five detectives are actively reviewing surveillance video from the restaurant and nearby businesses to identify the suspects. The police have urged anyone with information, or who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area around Logan Square on the afternoon of February 14, to come forward.
