Long Beach Teen Arrested for String of Burglaries and Assault with a BB Gun

A 17-year-old boy was arrested in Long Beach, California, for a string of burglaries and an assault involving a BB gun. The teen, whose name has not been released due to his age, was taken into custody on Monday, October 2nd, 2023. The burglaries occurred in the 1000 block of East 2nd Street, where the suspect broke into multiple homes by shattering windows with a BB gun.

During the burglaries, the suspect stole various items, including cash, jewelry, and electronics, totaling approximately $5,000 in value. The police reported that the suspect used a BB gun to shatter windows and gain entry into the homes. In one incident, the suspect assaulted a resident with the BB gun, causing minor injuries. The resident was treated at the scene and did not require hospitalization.

The Long Beach Police Department responded to the incidents and launched an investigation. The suspect was identified through surveillance footage and witness statements. The police appealed to the public for any additional information that could aid in the investigation. The suspect is currently being held in juvenile detention pending further legal proceedings.
