Madison Man Sentenced for Big Apple Store Burglary

On October 10, 2023, a burglary occurred at the Big Apple store located at 1801 East Washington Avenue in Madison, Wisconsin. The suspect entered the store through a broken window, and stole $2,000 in cash and cigarettes valued at $500. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported.

The suspect was later identified as a 32-year-old Madison resident. He was arrested on November 1, 2023, after an investigation by the Madison Police Department. The suspect was charged with burglary and theft. He pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to five years in prison on December 5, 2023. Police have not released the suspect's name to the public.
