Man Accused of Fatally Shooting and Running Over Victim Before Police Chase

KANSAS CITY, MO — A suspect is in custody following a horrific sequence of events that left one person dead and led to a high-speed police chase through the streets of Kansas City.

According to charging documents, the suspect confronted the victim in an attempted robbery. The situation turned deadly when the suspect shot the victim and subsequently ran over them with a vehicle. As officers arrived at the scene, the suspect fled, initiating a dangerous pursuit with Kansas City police officers.

The pursuit ended when the suspect's vehicle was stopped, and they were taken into custody without further incident. The suspect now faces charges of first-degree murder, armed criminal action, robbery, and fleeing law enforcement. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of family.
