Man Arrested After Attempted Break-In at Cheyenne Sportsman’s Warehouse

CHEYENNE, WY — The Cheyenne Police Department has arrested a man who allegedly tried to break into the Sportsman's Warehouse store on Friday morning.

Officers responded to an active commercial burglar alarm at the retail location on Dell Range Boulevard. When they arrived, they discovered visible damage to the store's main entrance doors, indicating an attempted forced entry. The suspect had already fled the immediate area.

Using descriptions provided by witnesses and surveillance footage, officers conducted a search of the surrounding commercial properties. Within minutes, a suspect matching the description was located hiding behind a nearby building.

The man was arrested without incident and was found to be in possession of tools commonly used in burglaries. He is currently facing charges of attempted commercial burglary, criminal mischief, and possession of burglar tools. CPD is continuing to investigate if the suspect is connected to any other recent commercial burglaries in the area.
