Man Arrested After Running Over Tallahassee Store Clerk, GCSO Says

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A suspect has been taken into custody by the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office (GCSO) after an altercation at a local establishment resulted in a store clerk being run over by a vehicle.

Deputies responded to a call regarding a hit-and-run and assault at a retail property. According to investigators, the suspect engaged in a dispute inside the store. As the situation escalated, the suspect exited the premises and entered his vehicle. When the store clerk followed the suspect outside to obtain license plate information or de-escalate the situation, the suspect allegedly accelerated, striking the employee and running them over before fleeing the scene.

Emergency medical personnel arrived shortly after to treat the store clerk, who was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries. GCSO deputies, utilizing vehicle descriptions provided by witnesses and surveillance footage, located the suspect shortly afterward in neighboring Gadsden County.

The suspect was arrested and booked into the local detention center. He faces multiple felony charges, including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and leaving the scene of a crash involving injury. Authorities have stated that the victim is expected to recover, and the investigation into the exact circumstances leading up to the confrontation is ongoing.
