Armed incident at Co-op in Blackpool
According to an article published by the Lancashiretelegraph on 7 April 2026, a man has been arrested following an incident at a Co-op supermarket located on Abingdon Street in Blackpool.
Lancashiretelegraph reports that police were called to the scene at approximately 1:15pm on 6 April following reports that a man had entered the premises and was causing a disturbance while in possession of at least one weapon. Officers arrived shortly after and located the individual inside the store.
The suspect remains in custody and is currently being held on suspicion of aggravated burglary and weapons offences. Lancashire Police are now appealing for members of the public who were in the vicinity at the time of the incident to come forward. Authorities are specifically requesting that anyone with mobile phone or dashcam footage contact them by calling 101 and quoting log 550 of 6 April.
