According to an article published by the BBC on 8 August 2025, a 40-year-old man has been arrested following a knifepoint robbery at a Tesco Express store in Mansfield Woodhouse. Nottinghamshire Police reported that officers were called to the Leeming Lane North location at approximately 17:00 BST on Thursday.

The BBC reports that a man armed with a knife threatened a shop assistant and demanded cash. The suspect then allegedly grabbed additional notes and pushed a second worker before fleeing the scene. The individual was subsequently arrested on suspicion of robbery and two counts of criminal damage and remains in police custody.

Authorities are currently examining CCTV footage from the premises and have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward. Detective Sergeant Andrew Sansom stated that such incidents are distressing for staff and confirmed that support is being provided to those involved. Businesses are encouraged to review their security protocols and ensure staff are trained in emergency response procedures.
